Logitech g35 voice morphing software

Moving on to the surround sound quadrant, here we have a giant Dolby logo that turns red when the Dolby toggle switch is engaged on the left ear-cup, making it all the more apparent that Dolby Headphone and Dolby Pro Logic II effects are in play. The system tray icon will also turn red to indicate this. The v1. In its current state the G-keys section is rather disappointing, offering nowhere near the programming capability of the G15 and G19 keyboards. Custom commands and Push-to-Talk for Ventrilo are also present, but contrary to the original press release, TeamSpeak support is nowhere to be found at this time.

Multiple profiles for the G-keys can be created, although curiously there is no quick way to switch between them, not even in the system tray menu. This is probably the best use of the G-keys right here. Webcam users will be delighted to know that these effects are real-time, and sync up with lips rather nicely.

Without the effects turned on, the voice quality is above average, producing a clean sound without picking up the sound of my computer or air conditioner. The only downside there is to the microphone is some electrical crosstalk that can be heard as a soft, high-frequency whine in the right ear-cup whenever an application is making use of the microphone such as Sound Recorder or an active Skype call.

This much is easily drowned out with some music or video game action, but can prove to be slightly annoying while in a phone call. Update 1: Logitech has acknowledged the issue as a manufacturing defect, and says that new units should be arriving shortly from the factory to replace the bad stock.

As soon as Logitech posts in their forums that the new stock has arrived, G35 owners should be able to contact Logitech Technical Support for a replacement.

Channel separation was clear, and the large 40mm drivers coupled with the circumaural design allowed for strong, clean bass that has plenty of kick to it. Vocals were crisp and well defined, and old school chiptune music sounded perkier than ever. Be careful! If you guys tried out the Plantronics Gamecom headset which features Dolby Headphone 5.

I would say wait for the Razer Megalodon to try it out first. Also, Psyko 5. An important distinction between the G35 and the competition is the G35 processes all 5 or 7 discrete channels of audio, using all the positional data to reproduce the surround-sound experience in the headset.

The Plantronics GameCom , on the other hand, only receives a stereo, 2-channel signal regardless of what the game or movie can output and then simulates two surround channels and a center channel.

The G35 can do this as well with stereo content. I realise USB is a very versatile format but when it comes to audio it does not hold up. I will often be doing file transfers to and from various USB storage devices while listening to music or playing a game and from my knowledge of USB this is certain to impact on the sudio quality of the headphones.

Another problem is for those people that have high end sound cards, these headphones are essentialy useless to them. A better solution would have been to have the regular 3. I also consider myself a bit of an audiophile, and your concerns were foremost in our minds during development. The primary focus was on creating an excellent sounding circumaural headset — and our success in that has been reported in the recent press coverage of the G And as well as the convenience factor that you mention, the USB architecture was needed for the Dolby Headphone 7.

My recent need for a set of headphone twin boys brought me to find the highest quality headphones I could find. I must admit I was happy when they arrived. After hooking up the USB cord the Optical cords, the TWO power supply cords, plugging those cords into their decoder, and plugging the headphones into the decoder, I looked at the giant nest which I made on my desk. I was blown away that any company would make such a ridiculous setup; I packaged all the wires back in the box and returned it to Costco.

After having been through the recent disappointment of the corded mess, Logitech once again has shown their innovation by making a user-friendly set of headphones. Way to go Logitech Billy. Any update on the release date for U. Many thanks. Does seem to be that way since there are more websites doing reviews lately.

Reviews i have only read one atm i would like to read some more Plus i thought this was coming out in march in Australia. I lituraly can not wait for this one to come out!!! Plus people have been saying that because its usb the sound wont be as good as one that goes direct into the sound card? That said, I was wondering if you would be kind enough to tell us about your driver necessity and policy for this product. As a G15, G13 and soon to be G19 user, one reason I continue to purchase Logitech G-series products is the apparent commitment to open source drivers — I love that a SDK comes along with the G-series keyboards so that users can make their own applications, and it is easy to port their usage to other operating systems.

Will the G35 work under Linux? Will there be a SDK involved that will provide some, if not all the features for Linux use? Would you be able to tell us what audio hardware is found in the G35? Again, I thank you for your commitment to free software in the past, and hope it continues with the G35! If so, it is a sure purchase from me! However, without the Logitech software installed, you will lose the advanced features of the G35 Dolby Headphone 7.

We will certainly consider your request for G35 Linux support in our software development discussions. Would also like an update.

My old headset has been broke over 1. I may go back and buy speaker and deal with the wife yelling at me to turn it down again. Hello, earlier on you mentioned that the Logitech G35 headset would be available in March to Australians. Today it is April 1st in Australia and I am unable to find any online stores selling them. I am curious as to whether the release was delayed for some reason.

I myself am a gamer and my current headset has just about had it and I am in need of a new headset. Hi Blackout, The G35 should be on store shelves in Australia in weeks.

Cheers, Ruben. At this point I would accept an April Fools joke saying it was released today. Just knowing someone responded to the constant questions asking for release date would make me happy. Throw us a bone…. Thanks for your patience. Update re: availability in the U. Still waiting on more info for the U. Those delay in release dates are more than disappointing.

This is bad ;-! Is there any good reason for these delay or is this marketing at work in over hyping a product? Got today the message from the retailer that the expected delivery date is postponed to May 13th.

Well, today is the end of the week, an nothing yet. Maybe next week? Or is it it being delayed even longer? Arf …… logitech just could advise their potential clients about when it will be released….. It was march, april and now at the middle of may …. Its rather disappointing. They have no plans to release it before July So, is there any updates to report concerning a release date?

All, thank you VERY much for your patience. I can now confirm that the G35 is available in the U. Do you have any info on when it will hit in-store retailers like best buy in the US?

Ruben, thanks! Got my on order. Went hog wild and took 2day shipping. Woo Hooo! Thanks for letting us know, I have literally been checking the Logitech site a few times a day since you let us know it would be late last week. Just in the nick of time to save my sale. I will pretty much choose Logitech over any other company when it comes to PC peripherals, they are well-made, have thoughtful functions and everything always works as advertised.

Logitech now allows us to buy the G Does that mean its a pre-order or will it be shipped when purchased? Has anyone who bought one through Logitech gotten their headsets yet? Or available from amazon. I ordered mine early on the 13th and so far no order status update. When I placed the order, it said it would ship the next business day. Making me wonder if they really have them in hand yet. Guess I just have to wait it out now….

Or Logitech is playing a cruel joke by publishing it as released and getting us to pay for it and wait? I am starting to get disappointed in logitech.

I think the hardest part about this is the fact that it is such a cool product, and we are eager to receive and play with it. I ordered mine Monday night, and according to UPS tracking, it shipped out Tuesday afternoon with an expected delivery of today. So have some patience everyone!

Thanks for keeping us updated Ruben. Expedited shipping soon. Well, gave them a call, since I ordered it Monday afternoon. With 2 day shipping selected, it should be here by next Monday latest. Not sure when the cut off time for their shipping department was on Monday, but I seem to have missed it, and I ordered my G35 at around 3pm EST. So, keep checking until Friday to see if your status has changed!

I ordered mine 4pm on Monday and Logitech just sent me an email saying it had been shipped. Hello all — got an update from our distribution center. Please know that a lot of effort has gone into tracking the status of these orders today and we are committed to shipping these as quickly as possible. When will the G35 be available in the Netherlands?

Because I wanted to buy it from amazone. My order shipped last night :. It is scheduled to be here on Friday, so mission success. Now, the big question is, do I want to take Friday afternoon off and sit in the driveway waiting for it. Any idea when this will be available from other distributors, i. Just trying to decide if I want to cancel my order with them and reorder here.

Look at the other page of comments guys. Ruben said last week ———————————————— Update re: availability in the U. They even had the price of the headset below the MSRP. For all we know, Amazon could have the headset available tomorrow. Literally minutes ago. Unboxed and enjoying them as I type. I love these headphones and am considering destroying my 5. Will it be half of may or is it possible you can get it sooner from internet shops? Just to follow up my previous post.

I order on Monday, second day delivery. Boy was it worth the wait. It is VERY comfortable and covers my ears nicely. Configuration shows Ventrilo 3. No big deal though.

Well, I got mine, and I am rather disappointed. The overall quality is great! However, in the game that I wanted them for, the Dolby feature has a major problem.

Note that other games may not have the same issue, this is what I play and wanted the headphones for. In the game I am playing, City of Heroes, there are oscillating sounds which denote the location of key objects.

These sounds, which are in many cases the only way to find the object, are reduced by the Dolby to a point that when I stand next to the object, it can barely be heard. A somewhat solution I have found out was restarting Windows Audio. In 'Services' window, select Windows Audio from the left, then right click on it and choose restart. This would fix the alt tabbing issue and give me sound but once I opened my game again the game sound would be gone and if I alt tabbed again the same problems would occur.

I have no clue if its the software or if I keep getting sent broken headsets but right now I'm desperate for answers because I will need the newer versions for future products.

Aside from being a bit heavy the G35 feels great and it has no pinch-points so extended use is not a problem probably the biggest complaint with most headsets and it is packed with thoughtful features. The software is not particularly incredible, but it is simple and easy to use, and it allows the hardware to shine. The microphone cancels almost all ambient noise listen to it in use in our podcast and the fact that it shuts off when you flip it up is just plain smart.

Shifting the controls to the side of the headset instead of inline was a good move and while you have to learn where they are positioned, that will just take an hour or two of use. General music listening was satisfying as well.
